Our Leadership
Building Africa's Space Future Together. Meet the experienced team driving the Cape Constellation vision.
The Journey So Far
Cape Constellation was born from a shared conviction that Africa's space future must be built on African ground. James Barrington-Brown, with over 30 years in space technology and a proven track record of building globally competitive companies from South Africa, joined forces with the NewCraft CEO, Yvette Barrington-Brown, whose transition into the space sector came through long-term industry exposure and formal training in space law and policy. Together, they came to see space not as an isolated industry, but as an ecosystem—one that rewards collaboration, precision, and long-term thinking.
Having achieved significant personal and professional milestones, the Barrington-Browns turned their focus to impact—investing their own expertise to build Cape Constellation and Africa Space Ventures. These platforms pair commercial capital with disciplined business mentorship for space-tech ventures, creating the infrastructure for African companies to grow faster and stronger, without growing alone. For them, the sky is not the limit—it is where responsibility, ambition, and possibility begin.

The Shape of Collaboration
Africa is positioned at the centre of the logo, anchored by a four-point star at Cape Town. A double-line comet trail extends outward, symbolising momentum, scale, and ambition.
The dual trail represents James and Yvette Barrington-Brown, co-founders whose combined leadership propels innovation and growth. The surrounding constellation stars signify the interconnected community of partners, innovators, and institutions that support and enable each venture.
